2227. All Manual February 1

So for those of you wondering if another challenge was on the cards, I thought I'd set myself a new one for this month!

I have to admit that most of my January pearl shots were taken with my iPhone, which has a great camera but it's also meant that I haven't been using my "big" camera...which actually isn't that big!

So, for my February challenge to myself I am going to try and do one manual shot every day for the whole of the month and no resorting to my phone!

I started what will be a weekly challenge with my photo club this week, having done my first ever zoom call with some of the club members on Thursday so my camera came out along with my tripod to try a few indoor shots.  I had also forgotten how awesome my 60mm macro lens is and now have my camera set up on the tripod with my remote release attached (which took me ages to locate as I haven't used it in so long...probably more than a year now).  I'm meeting a fellow club member on Wednesday for a wee walk and although I could take my big camera with me, it is heavy, so I'm going to take my wee compact which I haven't used for much more than a year now....sometimes it's good to challenge yourself to actually take photos...with more than my phone!

Today's image is a tiny pin, one of three my neighbour bought me for Christmas...it's less than 1/2 an inch wide and getting used to moving the camera to focus with my 60mm macro was always tricky but I actually felt like I nailed it this time...my eyesight is shocking so I had to use a combination of auto and manual focus...but all other settings were totally manual!

Met up with a friend and my youngest for a coffee and a walk around the park this morning whilst hubby was at the optician.  Lunch was cooking in the Crockpot whilst we were out so a totally chilled morning.

Need to get on with my knitting as I have a hat to complete for my eldest and then need to send it along with the gloves I made for them.....
