The first commute

Went to Wuppertal today to meet the judge I'll be assisting over the next few months and got my first assignment to prepare a judgement in a pending case.

The blipless weekend was a disaster. None of our furniture could be delivered and we incurred huge additional expenses and delays, all because of the threats of a 25 year-old neighbour who didn't like the fact that the delivery truck had briefly parked over the cycle lane. She took a photo and threatened to report the drivers if they didn't move promptly. Re-delivery, getting special permission for a dedicated parking spot in 2 weeks and storage fines by IKEA add up to 500 Euros. Needless to say my enthusiasm for the new flat is sub-zero knowing what kind of people we will have as neighbours. 

I better find a good recipe for lemonade what with all the lemons thrown my way.
