Lurking Under the Rhododendrons

I spotted this grey heron, Ardea cinerea, hiding under a Rhododendron bush.
Not its usual hunting pose and its plumage seemed to be getting a little wet. I hope it wasn't unwell as the cold weather has recently frozen over most of its access to food.  Only sheltered spots like this have remained ice free.  The prediction is yet another cold night tonight.
