Over the Hill
We're back in the freezer again.
The day dawned bright and we were feeling in great need of a proper walk. But the road is treacherous - in the shady places, and where the ditches are blocked, there are great tracts of rutted ice, mixed in with sheets of the smooth black variety that tends to put my little car into a spin. TM assured me that the LR would not let us down, and he was right. We got over the hill and down to the river, and had a great walk. And it started when we got back to it :-)
The track was mostly good and firm, and the flooded bits were crisp on top and hard below, with a spongy layer of lank, soggy grass in the middle - a bit like walking on the surface of a giant pavlova.
I kept stopping to take pictures and TM got quite a bit ahead. I was very impressed by the couple and their dogs in the extra. They had them sitting like this for two or three minutes while I caught up. Beautiful to see.
