Seedling
Malvern is very proud of it's real gas lights. There are quite a few around Malvern Wells.
What is not well known, however, is that the gas lamps are grown locally from ball bearings. Occasionally, one or two escape into the wild and start self-seeding around the place. I only spotted this one this morning because it would normally be hidden by foliage - a covering that has allowed it to get to the semi-mature stage, with the small bud forming. They are usually pulled up at a very early stage and sold off as "road pins".
This one should flower in a couple of years. They are very slow growing.
