Middle of the Road

It was safer to walk on the road today than it was on the pavement or the grass verge. Both the verge and pavement were frozen solid and stayed that way most of the day. The single track roads were not very safe either until later in the morning by which time they had been gritted. This piece of road that runs past our house is always one of the first to be gritted as it is on the main bus route from Lerwick to the airport at Sumburgh.
