I love it

when a plan works. I was outside Morrison's supermarket at 9am, not sure what time they officially open BUT there were customers going in the main entrance so I duly sanitized my hands and shopping trolley and braced myself. I'm not a fan of shopping, but this time of the morning in Morrison's it's very civilised apart from the lack of lighting in the chilled veg & meat cabinets. It came on when I was making my way through the meat section. I think they officially open at 10am. I was at the checkout then with my loaded trolley. Result!
Next, Mum's, to walk Indie, nothing going to hurt sat in the boot of the car, it's hardly Summer. I'd bought Mum some meat that I know she can't get from the Coop, plus fresh raspberries. I did a slightly shorter route over Knighton heath, as a) I did'nt want to lose Indie while chasing a fresh deer scent, & b) hubby was'nt feeling very happy when I left home. I quickly detoured to take this image however. There are sheep in this field at times. I'm amazed they have'nt been out onto the heath as this gate is a little worse for wear. Tied together with baler twine.
Back at Mum's just before the rain arrived. A quick coffee & hot cross bun, before sharpening her kitchen knives, scoring the belly pork joint then cutting into smaller joints for Mum to repack and pop in her freezer. I reminded her that I'd sharpened the knives as she is a little accident prone. She holds scissors, & secateurs upside down. The builders have cracked on, stripped, plastered & rendered the side wall of the bungalow,  made a new back porch, repaired the back of the garage, & made Mum a new boot jack, which I tried this morning. Perfect!
I dropped off a few leeks from the plot to a friend who is going to supply me with manure, then home, to unpack the car. The one defect with my little Aygo is that when you open the boot, the rain runs off the back window straight into the boot, so in my attempt to take the shopping out of the boot without opening the boot fully I clonked my head. I hope the neighbours were'nt watching. It might have knocked some sense into me. You never know :-))

It's a dismal afternoon, time for me to make dinner. It being Sunday I might even crack open a cider an hour earlier.

Thanks to Marlieske for hosting Derelict Sunday
