So .......
On New year's day, I discovered a lump in my breast. On the next working day, I emailed my GP surgery and, in just over an hour, I got a return call and was promised an urgent referral to the hospital in Lincoln. An appointment duly came through and yesterday, I attended their specialist unit. I was examined and given both a mammogram and an ultrasound scan. The staff, who must be finding it hard to work well under the current Covid constraints, were all kind, caring and very smiley - all wonderful qualities for patients undergoing a fearful experience. I'm lucky - my lump turned out to be completely harmless and all of my breast tissue is normal. My relief has been indescribable and I'm looking forward to sleeping the night through, without waking at 3.30 am with a head full of dark thoughts. I might even get my blip mojo back soon! :-))))))))
