Sunday Rituals
My Dear Princess, Loulou and Fellows,
Before Xmas I was trying to rig up the old Wii for the games room. Long boring story short, it is SUCH an old Wii that the wires are incompatible with HDMI.
So my special Wii to HDMI convertor arrived this week and so I thought I'd see if I could get it working before Caro comes home.
As you can see from today's picture, it does!
It was quite nostalgic. I haven't played Mario Kart Wii in at least 5 years - probably longer. I used to go round to Auslaender's flat off Leith Walk just about every Sunday. I would be given a sausage muffin and maybe a film and then the rest of the time we would be cartoon characters racing around a cartoon track throwing bananas at each other.
I honestly remember the two of us laughing until we cried. Well, mainly me. Because Auslaender had slipped down a hole. Because I'd left a banana near the edge of the hole. This never stopped being funny.
Although there was that time he threw a bomb over a wall at me. Don't think I haven't forgotten THAT little incident either.
Caro also became addicted. And for a while there it was something we'd do every evening. If anything, she was even more ruthless than me, and took a sadistic delight in SHOVING me off the track if she happened to be passing.
I doubt we will go back to that habit. But it's nice to have the option to be cruelly immature again.
