Clyde Navigation Trust - Doors Open Day
The photos for the collage were taken at the annual Doors Open Day.
The photos show the offices of the Peel Ports Group which was built as the headquarters of the Clyde Navigation Trust then to become the Clydeport Authority.
The building is A listed, was designed by Sir John James Burnet in two stages. The original north section was built between 1883-86 and then extended in 1905-8. J.J. Burnet was a prolific architect designing many buildings in Glasgow (The Athenaeum, Cenotaph in George Sq, Memorial Chapel at Glasgow University, …), London (Kodak building, Daily Telegraph building, British Museum King Edward VII wing …), War Memorial in Gallipoli (one of many) and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
More photos of the building here. And some of Burnet’s Glasgow buildings here.
