Supporting the bank

John has made this hazel fence to support the soil where the crab apple tree is sited, the one he transplanted a couple days ago. His thinking is to extend this area for planting more rhubarb. It can be tricky on a bank and the plan is to continue the hazel fencing to support the earth.
Extra shows him digging over the patch for rhubarb and tackling some pesky nettle roots. I quite liked the long shadows earlier on when walking my 10 laps of the garden. A frosty start to the day and crispy underfoot in places this afternoon when doing a little more tidying.
