Past and Present

I mentioned on Tuesday the Pentax shown in that Blip was my first SLR and I had many blank and overexposed images from back then. Today I dug this slide out because I wanted to experiment with copying them. When I looked up slide viewers something similar to what I put together here was for sale. It got me thinking.

I have used an LED light as a backlight and a desk top phone holder to position my smartphone. Not perfect but not bad. I will continue to experiment.

The image is of New York, I would have taken it on our second day of our* NY to LA Greyhound Bus trip across the States. That makes it the 28th August 1979. We were doing a boat ride around Manhattan before heading up state.

As I looked at it it struck me how much has happened since.

* 'Our' refers to my then girlfriend (AKA MrsS now) and her best mate.
