Bald Eagle

By JohnJD

A beautiful day and I am stuck inside waiting for a delivery. The last two times they arrived before 9am. But not today.

So this is going to be the closest that I am going to come to see a green woodpecker today. Yesterday I had a fleeting glance of one. The description and the behaviour as described in the book is spot on.

"Easily detected, especially in spring, by its loud laughing calls, this big pale woodpecker forages mainly on the ground. A wary feeder, it is often spotted as it flies up and into cover. Adults are mainly bright green with crimson crowns; young are mottled."

Yesterday's robin made it on to spotlight. Thank you for your views, kind comments, stars and favourites.
