Boiling Over

Nothing much doing today - we're getting the new boiler installed, so really it was just a day of sitting around, watching telly and playing on the loptap. The house is a total state, as we had to gut out a bunch of cupboards to make way for the boiler (new one couldn't go in the same place as the old one due to new regulations).
Also, we were supposed to be getting the cavity wall insulation done today, after they failed to show up last month when it had originally been arranged for. They turned up, mumbled on a bit about how they couldn't do it if there was no working boiler, citing something to do with CO2 emissions etc as the reason. All this despite there being a Corgi registered Scottish Gas boiler fitter with 25+ years experience of fitting gas appliances being in the room and telling them that in actual fact, it's probably better to do the insulation before the new boiler goes in. Still, rules is rules, so it'll have to be rearranged for some other point in time, wherein the probably won't show up again. Still, at least they turned up this time, albeit for all of 2 minutes.
