Teenage dream
Exciting day, visited a paint shop for colour charts, visited a farmers store to buy some anti-pecking spray for the chickens, went to the wholesale veg shop that is open to the public and a pet shop for more chicken feed. All this and a dog walk this afternoon, in the rain. Maybe I should have rationed these visits as I have nothing for tomorrow now.
I am trying to think more about my blips, not just trees seen on a dog walk, so I journeyed into my wardrobe and came back with these Levi jeans.
In my youth (back in the dark ages) brands were not as important as they seem now. Having said that I always lusted after a pair of Levis, a pair of Dr. Martens and a Ben Sherman shirt. I don't recall getting a shirt but I have had a Sherman jacket for a long time now, summer wear. The Dr.Martens arrived in 2018 and as such an important event, it was blipped. The levi's finally arrived the following year. Being mean I could never justify buying a pair as they are dearer than most other trousers. In autumn 2019 we spent 10 days or so in the USA and visited the Nashville Levi shop. The jeans that cost £60/£70 plus in the UK were on offer there at 2 pairs for $60. The blip is of one of the pair that I bought. I am wearing the other pair.
Finally I could wear all three iconic brands of my youth but somehow, when I looked in the mirror, the effect was not the one I wanted. Possibly the 40 years that have elapsed between the dream and reality has something to do with it.
