Craiglockhart Pond
Being out with the car to collect Hazel's medication from the Vet's (to correct yesterday's confusion over cost per volume given) we took a stroll round Craiglockhart Pond, (now called the Easter Craiglockhart Hill Local Nature Reserve) for a few minutes of fresh air.
Still partly frozen, there were plenty of birds about - besides the swans with their five cygnets there are mallard, moorhen, Canada geese, tufted duck and a male goosander along with the usual invasion of gulls.
It was rather dull, damp and muddy but a pleasant enough break from our local walks.
