Enjoying It While It Lasts

We've had a milder January than usual, which clearly is fine with our resident birds, including this female Northern Flicker. Her mate is often at the feeder too, and we hope they'll have a family later this year.

The sunshine outside matches the sunshine inside me, delighted that there are once again competent people running our country! I'm looking at US and UK newspapers online much less and spending much more time on genealogical research, my passion. 

And we're still waiting for our first COVID-19 vaccinations...
