the feet caught my eye...
With Coots you can see that they do have webbed feet but that they are different webbed feet than that of a duck, for example.
The toes are not connected, like a duck's webbed feet, but each toe has a flap on either side. With a backward movement of the leg, the flaps flare out. When the leg is moved forward, the flaps close again...
