Alley Life
Often colorful. usually not a good idea for a solo woman to venture down. I always look, sometimes take photos, and today somehow ventured into this one a ways to capture a snippet of the activity there.
Started reading Dialogue with Photography, Paul Hill & Thomas Cooper which I learned about from Fotodario's journal. Today I was struck with Man Ray and his assessment of how photography worked in with his painting life. He said: "I photograph the things I don't want to paint, things that are already in existence." That quite fits for those of us who work more abstractly with paint. I have said over time that the camera deals with reality for me, and frees me up to just paint with paint. The latter is easier said than done!
