Maybe

I'd been up to the allotment and knew that I'd taken some photos at some point, but only just bothered to look at them. They were a series of shots up into the bare branches of very tall trees, with small birds amongst them. As I'd reached Leith Links I heard an enormous chattering from high above me - oh, could it be waxwings, I thought? Try as I might I only got a series of shots that were essentially black-and-white silhouettes and no way of positively ID-ing the blighters.

Luckily I'd snipped off a forsythia twig and stuck it in the pot of daffodils, to see if the buds will open.
