Bleak

Normal service is resumed, it’s nasty, wet, grey and generally bleak. Talking of which, we’ve now exceeded 100,000 Covid deaths with heaven knows how many others not included in the official count. And Boris is wittering on about taking full responsibility, the gov’t having done everything they could (!!), them being ‘out in front’ of this and that, learning from their mistakes and yes, even developing a Pandemic Response plan. So that’s alright then. Funny, could have sworn we had a pandemic plan, just didn’t bother maintaining it or following it. I must be getting inured to this rigmarole, only shouted at the TV a couple of times and just had to leave the room once.

I need some calming, comfort food for tea so lentil soup it is. And a beer or three, they’ll help.
