It was hoped that the rain would get rid of the snow but it was still quite hard to get around some of the side streets today. 
The goldfinches are getting through the sunflower hearts at an incredible rate. I saw on Winterwatch that they weigh them in their beaks and throw away the lighter seeds. That explains why so many end up on the ground and why the chaffinches, the blackbirds, the robin, the pigeons and the collared doves all hang out there!
