3rd Southern General Hospital

I was at a meeting at Oxford Town Hall this evening, and this plaque caught my eye - I had no idea that the building had been transformed into the 3rd Southern General Hospital during the first world war. There were some great old pictures of doctors and nurses in the assembly room - and the orchestra being used for billiards! I thought this was a rather more fitting display than the row of muskets above it...
