Snow Bunting
Mary Jo called saying there was a rare sighting of a Snow Bunting at an estuary south of Bellingham, so we went down to see if we could find her (based on the description, she looks like a female). S/he was just hanging out down there, all alone. These birds are not normally seen this far south, being Alaskan natives. She didn't seem scared of us at all--you can see how close she let us get to her. I feel sorry for her though since they think she somehow got separated from others of her kind and ended up way down here. I pray that she's happy and okay and that she finds her family. It's sad to think of her out there all alone..
