Tree Surgeon

When my wife returned from her morning walk with our youngest dog she noticed a fit of sawdust lying on the frozen snow around our gate and wondered where it had come from. The sound of a chain saw above her quickly resolved that mystery. A tree surgeon was working to cut down a couple of really tall trees in our neighbours garden. He was using one of the trees which he had stripped of its branches to pivot the branches and segments of the trunk of the larger tree as he cut them off. This meant the wood would swing on a rope before gently being lowered to the ground.

We were quite pleased to see this work going ahead as the trees would have fallen across our property as the prevailing wind comes from the south west.
