Grebes

I've been up country today, namely to Lake Alexandrina to photograph the Grebes.....in this particular area there are twenty-four nest.  Fascinating to watch them changing guard on the nests (sharing parenting duties).  Some are still mating, others furiously building nests, it was all go.  Took over 400 images and many have been designated to the bin.
I've gone for this one, the only pair that had a new born baby - here it is snuggled into the parents back, stayed close to the nest where the partner was sitting on the remaining eggs.
A close up in extra.
Very hot and extremely windy today, 29 deg, predicting 34 deg tomorrow.  Phew, that is hot.
Still no sign of the cylinder, I might have to get assertive on the phone in the morning.
