The West End Bar in Coatbridge caught fire today around 1530 - by the time I arrived at the nearby ice rink the fire was mostly out and the fire crews were checking for any remaining areas that were still alight.

At its height over thirty firefighters were at the scene, and the road closures caused traffic problems throughout the rush hour.

What a shame to see a - by all accounts - popular pub going down like this.
