Kelpies at Sunrise.

Another beautiful bright morning but once more bitterly cold (-5.5C on the car thermometer, see the first of today’s extras) 
While we were there we spotted an unusual ice formation on the canal, ice pancakes, see the second of today’s extras. They don’t normally form on still water but near the lock there must have been enough of a current to cause some little eddies. 
We also took a quick trip down the wood to check out our bird feeders. Despite Andrew topping them up yesterday afternoon they still needed more. I am sure these wee birds are getting a bit too reliant on us!
