Life's tangled skein

2016-01-23 (Day 023) Parkrun

I went to Falkirk Parkrun this morning.

Parkruns are great things. Every Saturday morning, in parks up and down the country, people go for a free, 5k timed run.

What's great about it is that everyone there is trying, and everyone is supportive. The faster finishers don't look down their noses at those who take longer; they know that the person taking 40 minutes to do 5k has made as much of an effort to get out and start as the person fighting to break the 20 minute barrier. Every runner gets cheered on as they cross the line.

Me? I was overtaken by a man who was pushing a fully-populated double buggy. And am I sore about it? No. Not at all. Not me. No.

Let me offer a huge "thank you" to all organisers of Parkruns across the country and indeed the world - but especially at Falkirk!
