Rodents rule

Brockwell Park had an ethereal light late morning when I walked through it (see extra). The bike track has now been closed off so the kids can't BMX in numbers. We avoided the busy paths and took the back road into Herne Hill rather than follow the bottom path in the park. We saw a couple of houses in a bad state of subsidence – a too common ailment of buildings, including the one I live in, on the clay soil around here.

Nearing Dulwich, we came across a working van on which people are invited to add works of art. There were cassette tapes, dolls houses and a mosaic space invader (perhaps by THE Invader, but more likely a copy cat).

I experienced a sugar crash in the evening, just as I was scrolling through Instagram. Spying a coffee banana bread recipe by Deliciously Ella, I rushed to the kitchen and bunged it all together. Nom! Hooray for not visiting the shop for unessential items and baking something instead.

Mum and Rory were the victors of this evening's quiz.

I'm not sure what the berry pictured is, but I think it could be fruit of a hawthorn.
