Brockholes Visitor Centre
Went to the Brockholes nature reserve today, which is a new reserve open near Preston. I went on what was basically a recce expedition just to get an idea of the layout. I took my camera more in hope than expectation given the total cloud cover and the cold. The wildfowl were conspicuous by their absence, except for the usual mallards and Swans, but I did manage to see a Brown Hare and a pair of Pheasant, which augers well for the future, when it is a little warmer.
The blip interest today was on the visitor centre and restaurant which are built on a floating platform out into the lake, not a bad idea when you are building on a flood plain.
