The Ugly Duckling

Beautiful day today up at Fountains Abbey, and the birds on the water there were quite relaxed, even with a dog running about. I wanted to take some pictures of swans as I was inspired by the pictures taken by Miranda1008 a couple of days ago. A few years ago I facilitated a series of women’s workshops one of which focused on The Ugly Duckling story - it’s about the journey to finding ones tribe, coming back to oneself and acceptance of our own unique beauty. Personally I find swans beautiful creatures. In the extras I’ve included some of the other birds photographed today, Canada Goose, Coot, and young Black Headed Gull
