Sunshine Ward Playroom

Betsy looking rather too grown up in her AC/DC tshirt, for the pink and purple children's playroom at West Mid Hospital. There is an 'Adolescent's Room' apparently but they were using it for something else. There is also a Parents Room but there was a man asleep on one of the sofas and he probably had a tough night so I didn't want to disturb him.

So we ended up in the playroom with a CD playing 'Wind the Bobbin Up' in repeat.

We didn't have to wait for long though. After a couple of chats with a nurse and a doctor, they decided that they would like to sign Betsy off but her blood pressure was a tiny bit high. They said that maybe it was just because she was a bit anxious, they would leave it for 15 mins and then try it again.

Eventually they took her blood pressure eight times on an attempt to have an excuse to get us out! They even put us in a side ward so Betsy could lay down and relax! We laid down on the bed together and I swear if they hadn't keep coming in with the wheely blood pressure machine I would have fallen asleep! My blood pressure is probably as low as you can go! It didn't really work for Betsy though, the results never really changed, but in the end they just got fed up I think! Fed up of holding in to a 12 year old so clearly bursting with health and vitality!

Particularly as they were in serious danger of having her mother - me - fall asleep in a bed in the children's ward as she is so clearly not bursting with health and vitality!

Watched The Oscars last night. Betsy joined the competition this year and beat Chris, much to his mock-horror. I got ten right, Betsy nine, and Chris trailing with seven!
