Graffiti is art / Graffiti ist Kunst

There’s a lot of it about, and it’s likely to feature in quite a few future blips...

It can indeed be original and imaginative, and in some of the rather bleak East German housing estates a splash of colour or creativity is very welcome. It’s also an inventive and peaceful way to express healthy dissent or skepticism.

However, such ‘street art’ surely differs from the ubiquitous mindless tags and offensive slogans, daubed even on historic buildings in our old town. Where to draw the line?
