Seeing a Man about a Portrait.
So, we arrived in London about midday and found our hotel. After depositing our bags, we headed to Trafalgar Square and the National Portrait Gallery, where there is currently an exhibition of Man Ray's portraits. Now there's a man who could take a good photo! Our favourites were Ava Gardner and Ernest Hemmingway, but I also liked the one of Erik Satie because no one had told him that you weren't supposed to smile. We also had a look around some of the contemporary portraits, my favourite of which was one of Germaine Greer. After that we wandered over to Covent Garden and had a little look round. Out later for something to eat.
