Out & About

Top left a wee project I'm doing myself to photograph benches with good views. Chimney is all that remains of the Pyroligneous acid works at Crinan which was built about 1840  to make dyes  that were sent along the canal to Ardrishaig then on a boat to Glasgow to provide dyes etc, it closed in 1890, now we import this type of stuff from abroad!!! it was also used as steriliser and pesticides..  The little mound on bottom is called Dun Domhnuill and is also on the road to Crinan better known as a "moot hill" and is where the Lord of the Isles assembled to issue his edicts and give grants of land between 1388 - 1421
Scotland's history indeed goes back a long time. The Highland coo & donkey were also at Crinan but they're not as old!
