ABSTRACT THURSDAY - WAVES

Sadness sweeps over me in waves
     until I feel lost dejected
          grey and sad
               like the sky above me
But then I see a glimmer of hope
as the sun begins to rise
          higher and higher
               until its beauty blinds me
and my sadness dissipates
     leaving me feeling
          happier and thankful
If I hadn’t felt the sadness
     I would never appreciate
          the happiness and hope
the sun brings to my life
Thank you, Lord for
     the grey skies
for as surely as day follows night
               the sun will rise again
So I wait with eagerness
     and anticipation
for all it will bring me

P.S.  Having read the above, no doubt you will be wondering if I am OK - so wanted you to know I am perfectly fine.  However, thinking about the subject, and not being near the sea, I wanted to use the word "waves" and suddenly, this poem came into my head, so I hastily wrote it down and then having thought of what I could do to illustrate it, sat on the bottom of the stairs and used my iPhone on a tripod to take the shot.  In fact, the sun is shining, so I may well go for a walk.

P.P.S.  The migration to my new iMac went very well and it is all up and running - just a couple of hiccups, but nothing that a chat with my older son couldn't sort out!
