Kalettes and Ronettes

The word kalettes makes me think of The Ronettes who have been in the news this week because of the death of Phil Spector. The first I heard of his passing was when someone posted Be My Baby on Twitter. Took me right back to my dorm in the sixties.

I love brassicas. Purple sprouting broccoli has been in good condition and easily available over the past few months, we've been eating loads. Nice that kalettes, which are a cross between kale and Brussels sprouts, are back on sale. I remember eating cow (fodder) kale as a child. That's a bit tough and bitter.

Even though storm Christoph has been making itself felt my daughter and I had a lovely Top Field walk this morning with our two happy hounds.
