Weekly fruit and veg

When I went into the kitchen this morning, I noticed how attractively Mr B had laid out some of the goodies. That’s my blip for the day. Sorry about the old miracle tap, and orchid roots. The conkers are there to keep the spiders out.

Spent a while washing and preparing, cavolo nero, spring greens, savoy cabbage, padron peppers, apricots, blueberries —— and more.

Mr B made ‘his’ cabbage, which usually disappears in no time at all. So moorish. Tonight I’ll make Cannellini beans braised with the Cavolo Nero. A favourite from my years in Florence.

Looks like the worst of the wind and rain is arriving in the next hours or so. Can hear it whipping up out there. Not seen any weather reports for the rest of the country, must check. .

Watching Biden’s inauguration, expect many of you are too.
