Relentless rain
This is just one of the roads in St Helens which has flooded today. This was in the morning so would have been worse later.
At Peasley Cross Lane near Saints Stadium there are barriers which are lowered when the road under the bridge is flooded (happens regularly) as cars have been submerged there previously. Today, there was another car submerged. I saw that the barriers were down so it's not clear whether the barriers were lowered too late or the car drove around one (the barriers are staggered and cover one carriageway of the road each). Either way it proves the barriers are useless! The latest photo I saw showed the road near to McManus Drive which is the only road into the Stadium grounds and it looked like it would be difficult if not impossible for those driving there for their covid jabs.
There are a number of road closures due to flooding in our town and some houses have been flooded.
The rain has been relentless.
Seems to be normal life now.
I went for a walk in the rain while Terry did our shopping - he thinks I'm mad!
Feeling wet and thankful to be home with the heating on.
Update at 20:45 hours - just added an extra photo of our weather here a few minutes ago. Weird.
