Another day supply teaching but home to a very relaxed evening....so caught up on all the local and international news as portrayed in our free daily newspaper entitled "7 Days!"

My eye immediately seized upon the headline on page 2 that read.....

The White Incentive......Top Cop Reveals Best Drivers Have Been Rewarded.

I glanced through the article and was quaintly amused at the content!

General Mohammad Saif Al Zafeen, head of Dubai Traffic Police, revealed yesterday that 700 people who did not commit any offences last year have been picked to receive prizes such as stays in flash hotels, shopping vouchers and meals at posh restaurants.

The white points winners were from various nationalities , although the largest segment was Emiratis who made up 220 of the drivers, 97 Indian drivers, 56 Pakistanis and 44 Brits. Men made up 397 of the the recipients.

The winners will receive a text message telling them they are the best drivers in Dubai out of more than 1.2 million motorists

Further down in the article was this incredible statement.......

We called all the winners and were surprised when we discovered that some of them were dead or out of the country and we erased them from the list

No wonder they had impeccable records!!

There has to be a place for this in the Guiness Book of Records somewhere, somehow!!!
