Le Quermoz

Today we randonée skied Le Quermoz with Max, which he does at least once a winter as his late wife is buried there. Spencer and I each have a set up that Max has put together for us, but it was my first time out in these boots and I got some pretty bad blisters. So long story short, I didn't summit. I'm not upset about it though because the snow was all crusty and wind blown and not even good! I stayed at a refuge next to an alpine lake and waiting for Max and Spencer to ski back down to me. From that point however the snow in the trees was all still powdery and nice, so the descent was worth the blisters. This shot was taken on the ascent just as the sun was starting to shine on our trail.
