Lying In Weight
I came across this massive branch from an ash tree in an area I hadn't explored before, or maybe it just looked different in the snow. The huge limb lay next to the tree from which it fell and I looked up nervously before approaching. The remaining branch was leaning the other way, so I felt safe to get closer for a shot.
I only had my telephoto which made choosing an aperture and focus point a challenge and required me to back up to where the ground fell away. It was a compromise, but I think it worked out.
I lightened the area on the left considerably and reduced contrast because it was distracting from the main flow of the image. I think I'm improving my handling of snow - enough detail but not too dull.
