Another one bites the dust...

Ever since my first visit to Glasgow back in the late 70's, the Odeon was always a landmark and reference point in the city.

For years it's sat derelict and numerous applications have been made to at least preserve the art deco facade and the city's film premiere history. Well now the final chance to do this has passed and with genuine sadness I see the demolition teams are in place and we'll get another glass monolith in its place.

It's a real shame that the facade of this building is about to go and with it another part of Glasgow's history. Pity the council didn't have a George Square-esque last minute rethink on this one.

Shame on you city fathers...
