Sea Urchin

Watched the sky

Up early to train
Sat on the stoop and ate my breakfast
Hoovered and mopped my way around the cottage
Cleaned the bathroom
Cleaned out Holly with Murron
Cleaned the car
Helped Nick replace a couple of tyres due to a flat I had last week
Scrubbed the hall walls free of little hand prints
Cut the ivy back around the windows
Made more flapjack
Fell asleep snuggled up to Nick on the sofa
Dug over the veg beds
Stood quietly at the back and watched the sky
Nick cooked a fantastic meal (courtesy of Jamie Oliver) and we all sat and chatted and ate until we realised it was coming up to ten o'clock and Murron's eyelids were heavy. It reminded me of family meals in France that would begin at six and still be going four hours later. It's also that deceptive evening light that makes the day feel so much longer and inviting.
