Baby redwood?

I noticed this tree for the first time on my walk today and it looks very much like a sequoia. I was lucky enough to visit a few redwood groves (perhaps a throwback blip coming up) pre-covid times and I remember something distinct about the bark. Might have to return tomorrow and investigate closer up. Imagine having one of the worlds oldest tree species in your front garden... if trees could talk the stories would be remarkable.
