Blue bird
I was reminded that today is supposedly Blue Monday by a facebook posting from Anne Dyer, Bishop of Aberdeen and Orkney which depicts Picassos Sleeping Drinker. I’m sure not if the theological connections were the artist’s intention, or a critic’s interpretation – the blue cloak reminiscent of the Virgin Mary and the cup and saucer looking remarkably like a chalice and paten. Either way its an affecting image and the bishop’s narrative is discerning.
I had thought that I would blip something blue, which if uninspiring shouldn’t be difficult. However the blue thing that keeps coming to mind is the vivid blue on the neck and ‘face’ of the Cassowary. I am fascinated by these birds and was overjoyed when one ran in front of our vehicle in the Daintree Rainforest a few years ago. I have no photo of a living one, I do have this model one which was at the entrance of a place near Douglas where we stopped for refreshments.
Swapped a walk for virtual yoga, with Adrienne. Liked that there was a dog, snoozing mostly. You don’t get that with Nuffield Health.
