Alvingham - an open air museum...

...of churches and chapels. These two churches are on the site of a Gilbertine priory (1130-1536). The village also boasts a Wesleyan chapel (1848 - 2000), and a Primitive Methodist chapel (1836 to 1925 then a garage and now a private residence).

The route into the churches is across a farmyard - see extra.

Alvingham has no pubs and just one (farm) shop.
