Charmless

Magpies are occasional garden visitors, even though there are plenty in the surrounding area. I have mixed feelings about them - they are handsome birds, but charmless - their habits are not that endearing. Their movements are jerky and they swoop in and scatter the smaller birds, sending the food all over the place. Their call is also harsh and unappealing.
