Honeysuckle rejuvenation

The honeysuckle has not been touched in, I dread to think how many years! This is just part of it.....it now no longer looks like this! I’ve chopped it right back and found all sort of other plants underneath! It spreads across three fence panels and all of it was dead underneath.
I may be a tad early for ‘late winter’ cut back so fingers crossed it sends out shoots in the spring
